Protect those screws

In order to stop the heads of plated socket head screws going rusty and thereby making your pride and joy look old before its time try this tip.

After re-fitting the screw or screw's in question squirt a tiny amount of wax oil into the socket then re-insert the allen key into the socket in order to spread the wax evenly. If done properly this will prevent the heads from rusting due to the cracks that will inevitably be caused to the plated surface when you originally slackened the screw. This also works with the Philips head screws fitted to most Japanese machines.
